TAVERN LEAGUE OF BURNETT COUNTY MINUTES
December 9th, 2025

President Chuck Anderson called the meeting to order. The meeting was held at Voyager Village. Members present were Cabaret, Whiskey Joe's, Pheasant Inn, 10th Hole, B & O, Crow Bar, Salty Steer, Sweeny's, McKenzie Landing, Voyager Village, Pour House, McGraw Lake, Midtown, Webb Lake Tavern and Northwinds.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Antitrust Statement was read.

The Secretary and Treasurer's reports were accepted as submitted.

CHARITY

Charity slips will be handed out at each meeting to fill out or you can email Kathy or bring reports anytime. 

CORRESPONDENCE

League Leader Updates:

 Good article in the last newsletter from Mark Jefferson (ED) discussing the law concerning wedding barns that will go into affect as scheduled January 1, 2026.

 Also a good article in the newsletter from HWZ concerning AB606 – THC Hemp Bill.

Spring Caucus – Hosted by Burnett County. Date is February 16th, 2026. Webb Lake Tavern will be the location. Committee is working on flyer and menu. Kathy will send out to all counties in District 8 when ready.

Spring Convention – March 29th – April 2nd in Green Bay.

Legislative Day – February 17th, 2026 in Madison.
New TLBC website is up and running. Go to www.tavernlbc.com and check it out. 
Make sure you are using the new TLW app. More user friendly for you to input your information and specials.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT

Reviewed latest active/inactive list from TLW. 

Just a reminder that TLW is urging everyone to start paying their dues on their anniversary date. If you don't know your anniversary date please get in touch with Kathy. To make this process easier, there is an autopay option for TLW to have your dues automatically taken out of your bank account. If you are interested, please see Kathy.

Remember we have a thumb-drive from TLW that is a brief presentation as to why a business should join the tavern league.

FUNDRAISERS

Tour de Bar Books Report – Still waiting for one establishment to pay for ad. $7,660 was raised. There was discussion to increase number of books next year. Salty Steer and Cabaret will be heading committee again.

$50 Raffle Report – Fishing trip board took in $1,000 bringing total profits for this year's fundraiser to $5,170.71.

Calendar Raffle – Please let Kathy know if you have extra calendars or need some. Money and stubs due into TLW office by December 31st.

OLD BUSINESS

End of Year Drawing – 16 bars qualified for this year's drawing. 34 bars attended at least one meeting in 2025. The $300 was won by McGraw Lake Tavern.

NEW BUSINESS

None.

Drawing was won by Midtown and they bought a round. Thank you!

REMINDER:

Everyone is eligible to have a meeting at their establishment if they show up for a monthly meeting. New members are encouraged to show up to see what we are all about and if you attend 2 meetings in a row you are eligible to have that next meeting. It is a great way to host and to meet the other Tavern League members. 

Every Tavern League member is eligible for the next meeting except for: McGraw Lake Tavern, The Cabaret, Whiskey Joe's, Hummers, Jokers, 10th Hole, Sweeny's, Route 35, Pheasant Inn, Voyager Village and Webb Lake Tavern. 
 

GOOD AND WELFARE

10th Hole – Matchbox races December 13th.

Whiskey Joe's – Bingo December 13th.

McKenzie Landing – Santa on December 20th.

SAFE RIDE REPORT

Make sure you are getting vouchers into Brad if you give a safe ride. Still looking for drivers.

Motion made by B & O to donate $1,000 each to Toys for Tots and Xmas for Kids. 2nd by Pour House. Motion passed.
