       TAVERN LEAGUE OF BURNETT COUNTY MINUTES
June 10th, 2025

President Chuck Anderson called the meeting to order. The meeting was held at Hummers. Members present were Sweeny's, Salty Steer, The Rec, Cabaret, Whiskey Joe's, McGraw Lake Tavern, Hummers, Midtown, Pheasant Inn, 10th Hole, B & O, Jokers, Webb Lake Tavern and Route 35.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Antitrust Statement was read.

Meeting was suspended for guests:

 Garry Brooks from Turf & Tundra ATV Club attended the meeting. The club is looking for donations to assist in covering the cost of purchasing youth helmets. The helmets are being raffled off on July 4th and Labor Day weekends.

 Polly Imme from Burnett County Foster Closet also attended the meeting. Foster Closet is an organization that focuses on providing essential items for children entering the foster care system in Burnett County. They are asking for donations to cover some of the costs of these items.

The Secretary and Treasurer's reports were accepted as submitted.

CHARITY

Charity slips will be handed out at each meeting to fill out or you can email Kathy or bring reports anytime.

League Leader Updates:

None.

Fall Caucus 2025 – August 18th, 2025. Hosted by Ashland/Bayfield. Meeting will be held at Harbor Table in Washburn, WI.

Fall Convention – October 6-9th, 2025 in La Crosse.

League Leaders Day – August 25th, 2025 in Eau Claire at the Lismore Hotel.

Secretary Kathy Vandergon received 4 thank you cards from our recent scholarships which she handed out.

New TLBC website is up and running. Go to www.tavernlbc.com and check it out. 

Make sure you are using the new TLW app. More user friendly for you to input your information and specials.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT

Reviewed latest active/inactive list from TLW. 

Just a reminder that TLW is urging everyone to start paying their dues on their anniversary date. If you don't know your anniversary date please get in touch with Kathy. To make this process easier, there is an autopay option for TLW to have your dues automatically taken out of your bank account. If you are interested, please see Kathy.

Remember we have a thumb-drive from TLW that is a brief presentation as to why a business should join the tavern league.

FUNDRAISERS

Tour de Bar Books – Books are out. Some still need to be paid for as well as a few ads. Invoices will be sent out to those bars that still owe for ads.

TLBC Golf Tournament 2025 – Frederic Golf Course will be hosting the 2025 tournament. Date is August 24th. Please continue to get sponsorships. $100/hole. Please get your team into Tim if you haven't already.

$50 Raffle – Date for the raffle will be October 18th, 2025 at the Crow Bar. Drawing to be held at 7 pm. Prizes will remain the same as last year. Music will be Tammy & the Bachelor. Tickets have been printed. 

TLW Golf Tournament – September 8th, Turtleback Golf Course, Rice Lake.

8th District Caucus raffle tickets are still available. $50/ticket. 

OLD BUSINESS

Kathryn Sutherland from ICCPA attended the meeting and spoke about advertising opportunities and ideas for area members.

NEW BUSINESS

Nominations for Board Members – Nominations for the board are open. Kathy will bring list of members to the next meeting.


Drawing was won by The REC and donated back. Thank you!

The Next Meeting:
Will be held at Jokers, July 8th, 2025, 2:00 pm

REMINDER:

Everyone is eligible to have a meeting at their establishment if they show up for a monthly meeting. New members are encouraged to show up to see what we are all about and if you attend 2 meetings in a row you are eligible to have that next meeting. It is a great way to host and to meet the other Tavern League members.
Every Tavern League member is eligible for the next meeting except for: Route 35, The REC, Salty Steer, Midtown, Pine Wood Motel, B & O, McGraw Lake Tavern, The Cabaret , Whiskey Joe's, Hummers and Jokers.

The meeting was adjourned.


SAFE RIDE REPORT

Donation to Jordan Buck Days was tabled to next meeting.

B & O made a motion to donate $1,000 to Burnett County Foster Closet with remaining $500 matching funds. 2nd by Jokers. Motion passed.

Pheasant Inn made a motion to donated $500 to Turf & Tundra. There was no 2nd. Sweeny's made a motion to donate cost of one youth helmet. 2nd by Midtown. Motion passed.

Make sure you are getting vouchers into Brad if you give a safe ride.
